New Clix and W10 portables flowing in from iriver

Can you feel CES in the air yet? If not, this advance announcement from iriver should add to the gadget ambiance. The portable-media-player manufacturer will be showcasing at least a couple of new toys, including a new version of its Clix player (above) and the W10 handheld.

The specs on the new Clix aren't too amazing (voice recorder; FM radio; comes in 2-, 4-, and 6-GB versions), but it's cool that it sports an active-matrix OLED (AMOLED) instead of a regular LCD screen. That probably translates into an impressive battery life (better then the iPod nano's, at least), but no word yet on what it's actually rated at.

The W10 (pic after the jump) is a completely new gadget that's been in the works for a while, and its many features include an MP3 player, Wi-Fi, and Navteq maps of the U.S. However, you'll have to know where you are, since GPS is one of the functions not on board, and neither is Bluetooth. Still, the Wi-Fi lets you use the W10 as a VoIP phone when you're near a hotspot. Uncork the champagne.
