It's kind of ironic that webcams, gadgets designed to take pictures from your computer, are generally pretty ugly and unphotogenic themselves. Why wouldn't manufacturers put a bit more effort in so people aren't stuck having to buy a gray eyeball to stick on top of their monitor to take snaps?
Well, Mustek has finally taken a hint and is releasing their SI302A webcam, and it's real purdy. It's more than a pretty face, however, as it has a 1.3-megapixel camera that can take 30fps video at 1,280 x 1,024-pixel resolution. It also has a built-in microphone so you won't need any additional equipment to hop on the videochat bandwagon. It should come out in March, although pricing hasn't been announced as of yet.
