What do you get these days when you go for a "luxury" phone? You get Mobiado's Luminoso, a phone with a frame that's made of aircraft aluminum, an ultra-hard DiamondShield coating on the screen, and sapphire-crystal buttons. The keypad is lit from beneath as well as via the buttons, producing a cool lighting effect, though I'm not too crazy about putting the numbers and letters on the pad around the buttons. Seems slightly impractical, though it gives the face a somewhat more uniform look.
Other features on this 3G mobile of the rich and famous include a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a music player (MP3, MP4, AAC, and eAAC+), and a microSD card slot. Not much there you won't find on commoners' phones — the "luxury" label definitely comes from the construction. Still, since you obviously don't need to save money if you're going for one of these, the Luminoso is sold unlocked, and will work with any GSM provider. The cost for all this bliss: $1,700. It goes on sale worldwide on January 15th, though you'll have to look outside the U.S. fot a distributor.
