Kodak's colorful budget cams crank ISO up to 800

Kodak V803 V1000

You might not be the most colorful character, but that doesn't mean your camera needs to be boring. Kodak's EasyShare V803 (8 megapixels, $200) and V1000 (10 megapixels, $250) come in a variety of hues designed to make the public forget that it's what's inside that counts. And now, the nominees: slate grey, silver essence, white glaze, pink, red shimmer, midnight black, java brown, cosmic blue, mystic purple, though our award for Most Intriguing Color on a Budget Camera goes to golden dream.

The V083 and V1000 will have greater light sensitivity than their predecessors, having the benefit of ISO 800 (previously, ISO 400 was the end of the road). Kodak also tinkered with making a camera that can remember settings, however, I wouldn't call these cameras "smart." I think Kodak says it best when talking about their digital cameras, "Céline Dion will sing the theme song while riding along on a unicorn through a field of baby animals under a big blue sky!" Whoa.
