Klipsch raises the curtain on wireless music again with KlipschCasting

How many times has this happened to you? You're in the west wing of your mansion, and your DVD system is way back in the east wing — over a quarter mile away. Klipsch to the rescue with "KlipschCasting." The CS-700 console houses a DVD player and AM/FM tuner. Rather than mess with five speakers, it uses digital signal processing to simulated surround sound over a pair of two-way satellite speakers. And, rather than mess with wires, it wirelessly transmits (KlipschCasts, if you can keep a straight face) the audio signal to the 8-inch subwoofer. Wait! There's more! The CS-700 also acts as a hub that can wirelessly transmit (2.4 GHz) CD-quality audio to other KlipschCast products such as to one or more RoomGroove Music Centers, a self-contained music playback system with a retractable iPod docking station (pic after the jump).

The signal to the RoomGroove can be the same one playing on the CS-700, or something else. Moreover, the RoomGroove is a transceiver, so it can transmit to other RoomGrooves as well, even in other rooms. So you've got a DVD movie in the library and FM radio in the wine cellar — and no unsightly wires running down the marble staircase. Both products will be available in April with suggested retail prices of $1,300 for the CS-700 and $349 for the RoomGroove. A three-room system with one CS-700 and two RoomGroves will retail for $2,000.
