Watches are generally designed to tell us what time it is in some fashion or another, allowing us to plan our day and figure out when we have to be at appointments and meetings. The Elio watch puts a twist on the whole idea of watches and makes it more like a download bar, just showing you how much time you have left until whatever time you put in there. How much time 'til your flight? No need to do math, just check the bar.

Yes, it's a wonderfully quirky gimmick that has terribly little practical use. I mean, who uses a watch merely to count down to things? I generally check my watch to see what time it is to have an idea of where in the day I am or if it's lunchtime yet. This thing wouldn't help me out at all. Kudos for the creativity, but boo-dos for coming up with what amounts to a pretty worthless product. — Adam Frucci
