Colored iPod shuffles send us into sensory overload

ipod_shuffle_colors.jpg

Steve Jobs didn't need to get into his black turtleneck to get us excited about the latest development from Apple: brightly colored iPod shuffles. Today the company rolled out new versions of its tiniest MP3 player in pink, green, blue, and orange.

The orange is especially exciting because there is no orange iPod nano, and we can't remember anything orange coming from Apple since the orange iBook back in 1999. The orange seems to be the counterpart to the Code Red nano: Apple probably didn't want to use any of the rock-bottom $79 price of the shuffle to support AIDS. No matter. If you were worried that you couldn't express your true personality with the boring silver shuffle, you can now put those fears to rest.
