As much as I appreciate wanting to stay bundled up in the winter months, any warming accessories need to balance their benefit with the potential dork factor. Scarves? Fine. Hats and tuques? As long as they leave out any puffy tassels, they're in. But this Breath Xchange mask, despite its promise of heating your entire "core," had better turn winter into a Southern California afternoon to pass the dork test.
Nonetheless, it makes a good case: a heat exchanger captures heat and moisture in your exhaled breath to warm the air you take in, presumably making it much more comfortable than a balaclava. It's all non-electronic, so the mask is machine washable. Still, I can't see anyone other than Michael Jackson wearing this outside of a Star Wars-themed party, although I could be prejudiced by those wavy lines in the pic. If you're bold enough, it's a mere $40.
