DSLRs are amazing cameras and provide photographers with great quality shots, especially when compared to standard point-and-shoots. However, with the increase in quality there's a decrease in convenient features. DSLRs are rather bulky and don't let you use the LCD to preview your shots. You need to look through the viewfinder and then check out your shot on the screen.
While I can't help you with the size thing, this Zigview S2 might take care of the LCD problem. A 2.5-inch screen that connects to the viewfinder, it'll allow you to preview your shots just like if you were using a point-and-shoot. It swivels all around, allowing you to get shots from awkward angles, and it even hooks up to a video monitor if you want to show other people what you're shooting.
The problem? The price. For $450-$500 you could go out and buy another camera. But if you're a serious DSLR user and really miss that LCD preview, this is really your only solution.
