Wireless iPod speakers: never miss a beat

eos-wireless-system.png

In theory, having your music play throughout your entire house would be a great thing to be able to do. It's convenient, right? But honestly, how often are you wandering throughout your house for long enough that you need multiple speakers playing the same thing to keep up continuity? And it's not like your whole family will want to listen to the same thing at once. To me, while it sounds cool at first, it's a solution to a non-existent problem.

Apparently Eos disagrees with me. Its new wireless iPod speaker system cradles your precious music player in the central dock then broadcasts its music to up to four wireless speaker satellites. The "convenience" of this system don't run cheap: $299 for the dock and $129 for each satellite. You'd better really not want to pause your music when you go get something from the bedroom for this to be worthwhile. The whole system will be available next March.

Hi Adam, This is Greg from EOS wireless. Thanks for the review. While yes I agree this is not the solution for everyone, we actually do solve a problem. Many people want audio in multiple rooms in their home and do not want to go through the cost and hassle of installing speakers in their ceilings and walls ( if they live in a condo or apartment even if they wanted to they could not). For those people this system would work great.

For $299 you get one stereo base unit to dock your IPOD or to connect to your stereo or computer, and 1 wireless remote stereo ( left / right and subwoofer) unit. Compare that to a Bose system that only provides 1 base unit and no additional speakers or ability to add more speakers and ours is a great deal. Note that the Bose is also $299. While I am bias, our sound is as good as or better than Bose too (some of our Beta testers actually put one remote and the base unit in the same room for unbelievable sound.)

Also note that each speaker has its on independent volume control too. So while you are having dinner in the dinning room you could have the volume low as background music and louder outside or the living room etc.

Thanks again for covering our product. I just wanted to provide some feedback. Please feel free to email me directly if you have any questions.

Greg
