Vacuum shoes clean as you stroll

vacuum_shoes.jpg

Eat your heart out, DysonElectrolux has done one better than your "properly" working vacuum cleaner with these floor-cleaning shoes. Just slip 'em on when it's time to clean the house and they'll suck up dirt from the floor as you shimmy from room to room. I can see neat freaks wearing them all day, owning several pairs for family members and guests.

Sadly for them, the vacuum-shoe future is a bit of a ways off, as this sucking footwear is just a concept right now. Still, we're all for this rockin' idea, assuming Electrolux sorts out the requisite issues regarding power and how the dirt is stored (hollow heels?). And that mint-green look has just got to go.

I wonder if these will double as anti-gravity shoes for climbing up walls with the suction turned up high enough..... They would probably provide a great foot massage while operating too!

So, what happens when you step in water?

By Shadowchild at 6:50 PM ON 12/21/06

Well what happens when you stick a vacuum in water? Im guessing that there isnt much storage space for the dirt, unless you attached some bags to the heels or something. Or you could make them platform shoes. And yes, the green does need to go.

On power: A fanny pack type battery belt.
Dirtbag: Backpack type unit with hoses to feet.
Could also be touted as an exerciser.
Another thought: Shoes could have the Swiffer Carpet Flick cloths to pick up dirt as you shuffle around.

This is a ridiculous concept. Why would anyone want to have the very limited shoe as a vacuum nozzle. Tere are only so many places you could vacuum... in order to get under a couch or behind the fridge or something of that nature you'd actually have to move the entire couch out of the way...as opposed to the idea that you could jsut use a hose. the idea is silly. just an invention with no real marketable use. Even neat freaks would find them annoying.

They would make it hard to walk becaus eof the suction on the floor....
Say you drop an important document or worse- MONEY on the floor... they suck these things up and then what happens...then you have to go through all that nasty dirt to get your things back
If someone were to make these and then say- oh by the way- you have to wear this gaudy oversized back-pack to carry all the dirt and this heavy ugly-looking fanny-pack of a battery just so you can turn it on...I'd say go to hell.

I have to say- I really think someone was scratching their nuts instead of their noggin on this one.

to Melourn: you express your concern of dropping money or an important document. That happens with normal vacuums. I think that you're just finding excuses to hate something, just so you can look "witty and intellectual". Get over yourself.

For those who are optimistic about this product, what are the features that you will expect from the manufacturer as a customer?
