Fake snow to keep your holiday dreams from dying

snowonder.jpgWe may be dreaming of a white Christmas, but with Al Gore's global warming keeping things in the northeast a toasty 50 degrees it doesn't look like there's much chance of that happening. I guess that leaves us with a choice: either come to terms with the fact that we'll soon be enjoying the winter holidays with the AC on, or use technology to create a weak facsimile of our childhood memories of winter.

A weak facsimile it is! SnoWonder Instant Snow is a strange chemical that, when mixed with water, turns into a snow-like substance. It's non-toxic, but I still don't think I'd lick it off my gloves. Apparently it doesn't need to be kept at a less-than-freezing temperature, either, merely evaporating a bit rather than melting. In theory, you could create a huge pile of the stuff and just leave it in your living room until summer. Just like how I remember it! SnoWonder comes in a variety of sizes, from pocket sized for $9 to a unsettlingly large 44-pound tub for $600.
