Toshiba's new transporter to face Segway in dork-off

toshibasegway.jpgApparently the Segway is so dangerous and crappy that it's illegal to ride around on one on a Japanese road, leaving a huge gap in the human transporter market in that country. You know, cause you see them everywhere here where they're legal. Anyhow, Toshiba is swooping in to fill that gap with their own fuel-cell human transporter, one that comes with OMG LED lights on it to warn people that there's a dork approaching. Apparently it's safer than the Segway, although whether or not it can protect you from getting beat up for your lunch money is not clear. No word on when this will see the light of day or how much it'll cost, but we'll keep you updated.
