There's always that one slovenly guy in every office who has no scruples when it comes to using other people's mugs and then leaving them, dirty, in the sink. You could always protect yourself from this behavior by using paper coffee cups, but with the dozen or so cups you drink a day you'd get a landfill named after you after too long if you kept that up.
