Korean MP3 player gets built-in speaker, claims 'all the cool portables are doing it'

Could Samsung have started a trend? Following in the footsteps of the Samsung K5 comes this portable media player, the MMP X-500, which boasts a built-in speaker. The speaker doesn't look all cool and slide-y like the K5's, but props to Korean manufacturer XNINE for putting one in at all. And it's still pretty damn thin — about half an inch if this specs page is to be believed. It comes with either 1 or 2 GB of built-in memory, though you can boost that up with an SD card, should you be so inclined. The screen is 2.2 inches, or slightly smaller than the one on the iPod. And if you like the portable video, the X-500 will play all the WMV, AVI, DivX, XviD, and MP4 files you've got. Not much data on the speaker, not that we were expecting much in the way of driver size or wattage, but we probably won't see this player over in the States for a while anyway.
