Elica lamp: gets turned on by blowing. Har har har.

elica lamp

Too lazy to flip a switch to turn the light on? Too lazy to even clap your hands? How about breathing, are you too lazy to do that? Cause that's all you need to do to turn on the Elica lamp. Just blow on it's little propeller and on it goes. Seems pretty clever until you realize you won't be able to use it if there's a fan or air conditioning or the air is moving at all your light will be turning on and off at random. Not so clever now, are you, lazyman? The price for this brilliantly thought out product? A mere $191! Where do I sign? No word on when it comes out, but you can preorder now if you're somewhat of an idiot.

Hi, i'm one of the designers, and let me just say that we are not the IKEA, we DO NOT manufacture millions of pieces: Elica will be a limited edition (max 250 pieces) not yet in the market.
We designed the propeller and the switcher system to face the indoor windy problems. The propeller must spin more times and with a frontal airblow, not from a side or from a bottom/top...we didnt experience such problems with indoor airflows/winds.
The switcher is the propeller, so the switcher physically exists. Elica is not a normal lamp and it doesnt want to be a technological lamp, just a poetic one. Let me ask: did you ever woke up in the middle of the night, and tried to search for the switcher hidden in the darkness somewhere near the bed? ElicaLamp glows really lightly in the dark, it doesnt disturb the sleep and you see it immediatly and you know where (and how) to turn it on: blow on the probeller, or if you are not in the mood to blow in that moment, you just can use your fingers to let that propeller spins and turns the light on.
Materials are glass and diecast stainless steel, long-life energy-saving lightbulb included.
If you dont like it, just dont buy it. WorldWide we are already finding 250 clients that are pre-ordering it. We know that uro is stronger than Dollar$, this is a problem we will face in the future with higher numbers in the market.
