Start Over service: don't miss a minute of According to Jim

twcablebox.jpgTime Warner Cable is rolling out a new feature to its customers called "Start Over" that will let viewers start a program from the beginning when they flip to it halfway through. While DVR units allow people to rewind shows they've already been watching, this new service will work for shows not recorded locally as well. The shows are recorded remotely and accessed much like the popular HBO OnDemand service. Initially the service is available on "select shows" on "designated channels," but hopefully it'll expand to encompass all of Time Warner's cable offerings. Start Over works for two and a half times the length of a show, so you'd have two and a half hours to start over an hour-long program. The service is being unveiled in select locations only at the moment, but look for it to hit all Time Warner Cable customers eventually.
