Sony keeps tossing digital audio players at the market hoping one will stick. Their latest attempt at a sliver of the iPod's throne is the NW-S706, a slim little player with a 4-GB capacity. It also has noise-canceling technology, an FM tuner, and line-in recording. A thumbwheel on the side of the player will let you sort through your music, viewing the menus on what looks like a rather diminutive screen. It'll reportedly give you a solid 50 hours of battery life, which you can't complain about, and will come in black, pink, and purple. No official word on pricing or availability yet.
