Despite recent upgrades, Apple's iPod army doesn't quite have the best battery life among all the players out there, with some besting it by an embarrassingly large margin. And if you use your iPod to watch video at all, you're looking at serious drainage after only a few hours. Fortunately, there are power packs out there to supply extra juice on the go, and Sonnettech of Japan has just come out with the granddaddy of them all: the Volta, a reserve battery that adds a bonus 80 hours of rock time with your music or 16 hours for video. To give a little perspective, that's about three or four times the charge life of the built-in battery. Plentiful power, no doubt, though it helps that the pack is almost as big as the iPod itself. We're not sure when Sonnettech's juicy battery will make it to the U.S., but we'll see you in line at the store to shell out the $70 it costs when it does.
