True story: I use a pocket watch in lieu of the wrist variety. Okay, you're right — that's not really a story; it's more of a statement of questionable relevance, but hold on sec before you click over to the Battlestar Galactica page. The thing is, I've never really felt like I was underutilizing my timepiece until I laid my eyes on the Pocket Watch Alarm Clock. A design project by Nicolas Cheng, the PWAC has a slot for your pocket watch, which is right beside a digital LED alarm clock. The idea is to contrast the old and the new. Also starkly evident, though, is the difference between the practical and the impractical, since having a dock for a pocket watch is probably the most useless idea for a gadget this side of the mouse with two cursors. It's not like the dock could recharge your watch battery, and since pocket watches come in all sorts of sizes, each of these alarm clocks would have to be custom made. Looks like this one's staying in the art-project column… and I was so looking forward to start saying "PWAC!" a lot.
