If you've been hitting the desktop deep fryer a bit too hard, there's a decent chance your heart isn't too pleased with you. An unhappy heart leads to heart attacks, which I've heard are far from a good time. If you happen to have one while out and about, the faster someone can give you some assistance the better your chances of being able to continue living your lazy, gluttonous life for another day. Unfortunately, not that many people are trained in CPR, and even those who have been trained tend to forget the important details. Luckily for your arteries researchers at the University of Utah are developing a device designed to make saving lives easy for even the most dimwitted of bystanders. Called the JITS, or just-in-time support, it's basically an easy to use defibrillator. Unlike the units kept in hospitals, this one is supposedly easy enough for laypeople to use without messing up and accidentally killing you. I'm not sure just how foolproof a device that gives your heart electric shocks can be, but I guess I'm not the doctor here.
