All together now — that's pretty much the philosophy behind this phone/mouse hybrid from Sysgration. When it's not helping you rifle through Excel spreadsheets, the peripheral unfolds into a Skype handset, letting you chat all you want to other Skype users for 0¢ per minute (and for slightly more to users of "real" phones). It also has the added bonus of being a speakerphone, so you won't even have to hold it up to your face — a boon to anyone who thinks of mice as disease-ridden sources of infection. We've seen the Skype phone/mouse combo before, but this model (the ASG-142) claims to be the first one with a speakerphone. I knew I was saving that bottle of Bollinger for something. It also has caller ID, though I assume you have to unfold the thing to see the number on the 1.3-inch LCD screen, kind of an inconvenience. Hmm… I think we just might have found a use for that mouse with an LCD screen on the outside.
