This might look like a sculpture or a prop out of a David Cronenberg movie, but it's actually a fully functioning steampunk laptop with all the fixings. Lovingly crafted by someone with a lot of time on their hands in the land of the rising sun, it features a typewriter keyboard, wooden spacebar, and morse key over the trackpad. It comes complete with USB and ethernet, so it's not just for show. It doesn't look like it'll fold up all that nicely, but damn if I wouldn't love to see people's reactions if you busted this thing out on an airplane. And let's be honest here; a lot or "gaming laptops" aren't any more portable than this thing. It really is as much a piece of art as it is a computer. If this was put up for sale I'm sure that it would sell really well. Here's hoping.

THAT IS SO COOL! I want one! Who made it? He/she/they should put a copyright on that FAST before someone else tries to take it.

I like it . . .a true makers' black-box. I don't care what buddy has running in it, because if you can make like this, you're set to make any black-box in any design . . . I encourage anyone who can fab together this kind of tech and make it look as genre-d as this . . . you could fit a quad-core in this beast if you changed the measuerments a bit.

Amen on gaming laptops not being very portable. My Alienware is a glorified desktop. When I upgrade I'm going to downsize.
But I'd seriously use one of these beauties! I can just imagine writing my next NaNoWriMo novel on it!
