It took them long enough, but Apple has finally gotten around to putting Intel Core 2 Duo processors in their MacBook Pros. Upgrading both the 15-inch and 17-inch models, you can now get what you've been able to get in any number of PC laptops for a few months now: a 2.16- or 2.33-GHz Core 2 Duo processor, which Apple claims are up to 39% faster than the ones in the previous Pros. As usual, these things don't run cheap, with the 15-inch model starting at $2,000 and the 17-inch starting at $2,800. That might sound like a ton of money, but just think of how cool that shiny new Apple logo will look at the coffee shop. You'll also be able to stick on an optional 200-GB hard drive, 80 GB larger than you used to be able to get. Can you control your excitement?
