A speaker dock for cell phones: open the floodgates

soundstationsp-2985.jpgThere are about ten million speaker docks out there for the iPod with all varieties of gimmicks, but there aren't so many speaker docks for cell phones. That seems like it'll change as soon as the whole music phone thing catches on, so it isn't too surprising to see this Sound station SP-2985 appear. Connecting to a number of phones by Motorola, Nokia, Sony, and Samsung, the Sound Station will not only play stored music but also connects to your PC and charges up your phone. It'll even act as a speakerphone if you get a call while your phone is hooked up. Let's just hope that when these catch on we can avoid the toilet paper dispenser cell phone dock, as talking on your speaker phone while sitting on the can seems a few steps too far over the line of convenience into awkward country.
