Apparently Hollywood thinks that people love to squint, because between the iTunes Movie Store opening up and now Sprint renting movies to their phones one would think that small screens are the new big screens. Sprint already has 45 movies for download available from their new pay-per-view service, with prices running between $4 and $6 a piece for rental periods that range from one day to one week. You can check out popular flicks like Spiderman 2 and National Security on that tiny screen on your phone with similar controls to a DVD player, with chapter searching and hot, hot pause technology included. Do people actually want to watch two-hour movies on their 1.5-inch cell phone screen? Seriously? I mean, I'm all for convenience and all, but this seems like a great way to ruin the movie watching experience. There's got to be a better way to watch movies on the go.
