Rocket bike will give you the coolest obituary ever

rocket bike

It's pretty obvious that we love it when crazy people stick rockets on otherwise normal modes of transportation, so it's no surprise that we're enamored with Tim Pickens' rocket-propelled bicycle. If you're brave enough to mount up, this thing will toss you from 0 to 60 in a mere 5 seconds. On a bike! Good lord. The rockets run off of roofing tar of all things, giving them a solid 200 pounds of thrust. It took Pickens, president of rocket-design firm Orion Propulsion, 1,250 hours and $750 to put this death machine together, and don't you think he wants to get sued badly enough to offer it up for sale? This seems like the most dangerous vehicle ever, perhaps behind that homemade jetpack we also love. Now who wants to stick a rocket on a shopping cart? Anyone? Check the video after the jump, as nothing beats photos of rocket vehicles like video of rocket vehicles.
