Push tractor runs on pretty much anything
Engines that run on things other than traditional gasoline are all the rage these days; just yesterday we posted about a rocketbike that's powered by roofing tar. But all of these eco-friendly engines still require a specific type of fuel to run. Not this push-tractor — it runs on anything dry and organic. Developed by Russell Henning, a student at San Jose University, the Grasshopper can run on hay, coconut shells, Triscuts… you name it. Just imagine the impact this will have on farming in third world countries where gasoline is prohibitively expensive. There's no word on when this thing will be put into production (if ever), but the technology used in the engine is sure to have a huge impact whenever it is implemented. — Adam Frucci
