Wi-Fi is cool (and comes in mighty handy whenever we want to liveblog), but it can't do much for you when there aren't any hotspots around. With Sony's Vaio VGN-TXN10, all you'd have to do is switch over to Sprint's Power Vision network (assuming it's available) and you'll be surfing again at broadband speeds (which Sprint plans to make even faster in the coming months). With so much wireless goodness on board, it's nice that Sony provides SmartWi tech to sort through your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EV-DO (Power Vision), and all the rest. This is definitely a machine for power users on the go, weighing in at just 2.8 pounds and measuring a mere inch thick — just about right for ultra… uh, very portable laptops these days. Nice extra perk: The Core Solo notebook will burn dual-layer DVD+Rs, which pack double the storage space of typical discs. You can get yourself an EV-DO Vaio for about $2,300, available in charcoal, platinum, sienna and slate blue. What, no white?
