HipPop dog speaker; we think it should
be 'HipPup' too

hippop.jpg

Is there a new robot dog on the block? Taking a look at the HipPop, you might think so — after all, it sure looks the part of a mechanical best friend. But what's with your face, pooch? The head of the HipPop is actually a speaker, which'll belt out tunes from your iPod or Discman (anyone still got one of those?) or whatever you hook up, really. Seems like that's pretty much all it does, though; this dog was not made for walking. However, you do get the bonus feature of a motion sensor that will make the HipPop light up and play "melodies or sounds" whenever someone gets near it. Thankfully, this ability is defeatable. It runs on three AAA batteries and will cost you about $25. And once you've got a dog playing your music, we recommend you pick up a rabbit to read your e-mail. Then maybe get some birds to write your blog. Why? Because you can.
