Next month marks the opening of the world's first robot store and museum in Japan, an entire facility dedicated to the sale and proliferation of robots. As much as I'd love to make a not-tired-at-all robot apocalypse joke here, let's be honest: today's robots are pretty stupid. Far from being able to feel emotions and enslave us, our robots can barely walk around without hitting a wall. When you realize that the most successful robot yet created for the consumer market is a vacuum cleaner it's tough to get all that nervous about robot overlords. Yeah, some robots look a lot like people, but they're really just souped up mannequins that can talk. I'm not trying to disparage the robot-making community here — you guys do great work, honestly. But let's see this new robot store for what it is: a really expensive toy store for adult nerds.

Another reason why Japan's "souped up mannequins" may one day RULE THE WORLD!

Its not for the consumer market, but QRIO is as smart as the robots in I, Robot!!! Seriously - Compare the two and you will be amazed...
If you can find the old videos that is... of it having a full conversation based on a picture on the cover of a book!!!
