Recollect: keeping seniors' lives organized using technology that will confuse and intimidate them

recollect

The Recollect: Reminder system is a concept for keeping senior citizens' lives organized and easy to manage, designed to reduce anxiety and keep gramps chilled out. It consists of three parts: the Home Tray, the Go Reminder, and an online PC program. The Home Tray holds things, such as keys and medication, and features a touch screen that helps keep to-do lists and appointments organized. The Go Reminder is a lanyard that hangs around granddad's neck and reminds him to take said medication and go to said appointments. Finally, the PC program allows family members to track and add things to the program online, such as "Reminder: remove Janice from will." This is just a concept at the moment, but if it ends up going into production I'm totally buying one for my parents so I don't need to talk to them on the phone anymore. Just kidding, mom! I'm sure you can remember to keep me in the will without being reminded.

I see how this may be practical, but "easy to manage [...] reduce[d] anxiety and [...]chilled out" are not words that the elderly relate to technology... so I wont expect to see them looking anxiously for it's release as maybe their kids and grandkids are.
