Panasonic audio player with noise-canceling phones

d-snapPanasonic has just announced a new digital audio player, the "D-snap" SV-SD800N, that includes a "noise killer" function that apparently cuts out background noise. While details are rather scant, it looks like all that means is that it comes with some noise-canceling earbuds, ones that probably don't sound as good as more serious models one can buy aftermarket. Using the noise-canceling phones will pull power directly from the player, giving users about a third less listening time than if the function was turned off. The little player is SD card-based, so you'll need to buy your storage separately, and there are, of course, a number of docks and similar accessories planned. The SV-SD800N goes on sale in Japan on September 9, and there's no word on whether or not it'll make its way to our shores.
