Creative's DiVi Cam: Camcorder/MP3 player in one

Looking to shoot some decent video, but don't want to spend a bundle? Well, there's that camera in your cell phone, but a 30-second clip at 15 frames per second probably won't cut it. No, what you need is a gadget like Creative's DiVi Cam 516 ($249), one of the new breed of camcorders that captures video in MPEG-4 format to SD cards — none of this "tape" business. Footage is VGA quality (640 x 480 pixels), 30 frames per second, which should be fine as long as you're not looking to shoot a series for HBO. The DiVi is no one-trick pony either: It'll take still pictures with 5.1-megapixel resolution and even serve as your MP3 player. Its multitasking abilities kind of redeem the whole thing, since, honestly, if you want a simple camcorder that captures basic video, I'd suggest for RCA's Small Wonder, which'll do the trick for just $129. But you might have to do that anyway, since it looks like the Creative DiVi Cam will be Asia-only for a while.
