CinePlayer spins DVDs, hangs on a wall, looks hot

cineplayer_pdp100.jpg

One of the problems with having a slim flat-panel TV on your wall is that you still have to put that DVD player somewhere. That typically means having some kind of shelf or equipment rack sitting out in the middle of the room — kind of throwing a wrench in the works of your plan to get back all that floor space where your tech used to be. Fortunately for you, DVD players can now be made mind-bogglingly thin, too, as this CinePlayer designed by Duck Image shows. At less than an inch thick (1.8 centimeters, to be exact) and just under 1 pound, it's dying to be hung up, and the silver-finished surface will double as a mirror. But if you need to put it down somewhere, a stand is included, or you can just plunk it in the horizontal position. Nice bonus: it'll play MPEG-4 and DivX files. Unlike a lot of super-slick gadget designs out there, the Red Dot Design Award-winning CinePlayer PDP100 is for real, manufactured by NuTech of Taiwan. And if you look really hard, you may even be able to find one online for about $125. Why don't the big boys make more designs like this?
