Long known as the tether that keeps businesspeople tied to their offices, the RIM BlackBerry has become an essential part of business around the world. Not content with just keeping people in suits addicted to their products, RIM appears to be looking to go after the average Joe with a new, thinner version of their popular smartphone. The upcoming BlackBerry 8100 will come loaded with consumer-friendly features such as a digital camera and music player, with memory expandable via a mini SD slot. The 8100 will ditch the space-eating QWERTY keyboard that comes on current BlackBerrys in exchange for a SureType thumb keyboard, enabling the smartphone to take on a narrower shape. The phone is rumored to be coming to T-Mobile by the end of the year, and we'll keep you updated when official price and availability are announced. Thanks to Justin for the tip!
