Designers are always trying to find creative ways to fit big screens in small packages, and this Tripod MP3/video player is a neat twist on that goal. A small triangle that fits easily in your pocket when used for music, simply pull the two sides apart to stretch a widescreen OLED display out for video viewing. The triangle design allows the player to stand on its own, and a remote detaches so you don't have to hold it in your hand to watch something. Overall, a really nice, well thought out concept. Alas, it's merely a concept, and there are no plans to take this thing into production, but we hope some manufacturers are paying attention to forward-thinking designers such as Lisa Kohanski when coming up with the next generation of portable media players.
Update: Corrected the spelling of Ms. Kohanski's name. Thanks, Lisa!
