Spy Phones turn cell phones into portable bugs

nokia-7260-spy_w.jpgWe've reported about phones designed to track your kids, but we've never seen anything as sneaky and disingenuous as these Spy Phones, which is why we love them so much. What look and act like normal, run-of-the-mill mobiles are actually high-tech spies in disguise. Simply call a spy phone from a specified number and it turns into an audio bug, letting you listen in on whatever's going on around whoever happens to be carrying it. The phone won't light up or beep at all when the special number calls it — it just puts itself into bug mode and will stop recording as soon as you hang up or the phone's user pushes any button. Of course, unless your target leaves their phone sitting out in front of them you might just be able to hear whatever is going on in their pocket, but just knowing you have the ability to be such a sneaky liar has got to be kind of satisfying. The Spy Phones come in a number of popular models, albeit a lot more expensive than their bug-free counterparts, ranging from about $1,010 for a Nokia 2100 to about $1,842 for a Nokia 1439. Pricey, yes, but still cheaper than the divorce you'll go through when your wife finds out about this.
