Nintendo Wii coming as early as September?

wii275_w.jpgThe new Nintendo Wii may be hitting store shelves much earlier than anyone anticipated if CNN Money columnist Chris Morris is right in his predictions. Citing an analyst that says that as the Wii has already been in production for a couple of weeks, it should be ready for release as quickly as a September, with an early October debut being more likely. That's significantly earlier than the predicted November 6th release date, which was timed to beat the PlayStation 3 to market by a mere two weeks. Furthermore, because manufacturing has started so early the chances of an Xbox 360-like shortage at release is unlikely. So let's sum everything up: low price, no shortage, available early, and neat controller? Okay, we're sold. Of course, all of this is still mere speculation, as Nintendo has still not announced official pricing or release info, so for all we know it could come out next February for $800. But we doubt it. We'll keep you updated as more news surfaces.

hey the nintendo Wii would come out around late august or in September and the price will be definitely be under $300, and is 100% wireless, it can interact with nintendo DS, u can download all the oldies from NES to the old sega, it has 4 extra slots for the gamecube paddles, it can play gamecube games also, last but not least it has a video-S input so u can hook up to cable ( or what ever) and download extra channels for free. the list goes on about the specs to much to type. ^._^

Nintendo has already specifically stated the the Wii will be $250 or less, and will come out before Christmas Eve 2006 but not in September. October, however is still possible. They have also stated that there will be an immportant announcement in or by September that will most likely give the actuall price and release day.
For proof check ANY gaming site sush as ign.com or gamespot.com, it's only scifi that hasn't done their homework before posting this article.

First of all, humorless gamers, the phrase, "so for all we know it could come out next February for $800," is clearly sarcasm, as no products ever seem to come out when they're said to. So lighten up.

Also, this article is based on a prediction by a gaming industry analyst at CNN Money. Quote: "Nintendo has downplayed any suggested dates. Other industry insiders, who asked not to be named, though, said they, too, are expecting a September or October launch for the Wii."

Perhaps IGN and Gamespot should be be more like SciFi.com, reading CNN Money to provide their readers with some inside information instead of regurgitating press releases.

Thank you gaspee. I was reading the other comments and I was wondering if these people had ever heard of humor. Honestly, that $800 thing made me laugh. But I guess the intelligence level of some is not all I expected.
Also, well know when it happens. Wether it comes out in Sept, Oct, or Feb, who can say? Anything can happen between now and then that could change plans drasticly. So unless you looked at your little crystal ball and found out exactly when it comes out you shouldnt judge other peoples speculations.

As one of my psychologist friends said, "sarcasm is indirect anger" and I do not understand why the writer would have anger about the product whether in terms of cost or the timeline for the release of the product. I did not think the comment was humorous in any case.
Sincerely

So..."thegorm", what your psychologist friend says is gold, eh? Fact, law, whatever you want to call it? Thanks for letting us all know that you didn't "think the comment was humerous in any case." Wii appreciate it. Oh, hey...thanks also for junking up the Forum with your oh so insightful comment on sarcasm. But I digress...I for one will sit patiently and wait. Whether it comes early or not, I'll still be happy. And, I know the Wii is going to be easy on the pocket. So, no worries!
