Listen to Rolling Stones gigs via cell phone — live!

rolling stones cell phoneThe Rolling Stones are testing out a new service on their upcoming tour that will allow fans to call in and listen to the show on their cell phones as it's happening live. The service, called Listen Live Now!, will cost users $1.99 per seven minutes, which is kind of steep for listening to a concert on your damned cell phone. What's surprising is that a band whose members' average age is somewhere between grandpa and cryptkeeper is so open to new technology. Up to one million fans will be able to listen in simultaneously, which means if that capacity is reached, the Rolling Stones will make $2 million every seven minutes during one of their concerts, and that isn't counting the fans actually at the show who probably each will have paid over $100 for the pleasure of seeing Mick Jagger thrust his wrinkled, bony pelvis all over the place. On second thought, maybe enjoying the show via cell phone isn't such a bad idea…
