Carbs or protein? Let me ask my cell phone…

myfoodphone_w.jpgI was once at this killer Cuban place on the Upper East Side with entrées that looked so good, I actually snapped pictures of them with my cameraphone and sent them to a friend. As I was devouring my double-size pork chop in apple sauce, I got a text back saying, "Man, that looks bad for you." That's pretty much MyFoodPhone in a nutshell, which provides on-the-go dietary advice straight to your cell phone. The idea is that you take pictures of everything you eat with your mobile (you do have a cameraphone, right?), sending them to the service. Then a "nutrition adviser" checks them out and sends you back eating-advice videos specific to your diet every couple of weeks. It'll also keep track of any biometric data (weight, body fat, blood pressure, etc.) you input, which seems kind of handy but is probably something you'd never use. At least your pictures are all archived, in case you ever want to wax nostalgic about your long-past days of munching pizza and Oreos. Then again, just go ahead and eat a few — that adviser person won't know if you don't send in a pic. But then why are you paying $9.99 a month?
