Just when you thought it was safe to go out in public with your Sidekick II, T-Mobile is pushing your old model toward obsolescence by debuting the new version, the Sidekick 3 (made by Sharp). Slated for release to the public July 10th, the new Sidekick will be available in "limited quantities" to T-Mobile customers June 28th. So if you can't wait 12 freakin' days to get this third iteration of the Sidekick that improves on previous models with built-in support for three instant-messaging clients (Yahoo, MSN, and AIM), includes a full browser with automatic connection to T-Mobile's EDGE network for better Web surfing, and is 20% smaller, call up T-Mobile now, impatient one! A few sites have gotten their hands on some advance models, and I4U has rounded them up. The verdict: if you're into on-the-go IM and e-mail as much as calls — in other words, if you already have the Sidekick II — then it's worth the upgrade. One question, though: Can they just switch from Roman numerals to regular digits like that? Who's T-Mobile's copy editor?
