Stalk your kids with Verizon Chaperone service

verizon_chaperone_w.jpgIt's 10pm — do you know where your kids are? If you're giving Verizon $20 a month to turn your kids' cell phones into child-tracking devices, yes you do. Using the same technology that pinpoints one's location through 911, Verizon plans to offer its "Chaperone" service to parents so they can find out where their kids are, even alerting them when their kids cross customizable geographical boundaries. Capitalizing on the fact that younger and younger kids are now getting their own cell phones, Verizon hopes parents will jump at the chance to make sure their kids are where they say they are. Still, there's nothing to stop your daughter from leaving her phone in her locker while she goes to meet up with wyldguy277 from MySpace, but you can only ask Verizon to do so much.

Why not just put an RFID implant in the child? We do it with our cats and dogs.

THATS CREEPY!!! This makes me glad I use Cingular...

Wow, that's severely uncool. And sort of creepy. Glad I have Cingular.
