With all the news lately about the government checking into your phone calls, we sometimes wonder if there's any way to make a call with complete privacy. Fortunately for you law-abiding, privacy-loving Americans out there, Swiss company Vectrotel is coming out with X8 secure mobile phone. What looks like a nice, unassuming cell phone with a 1.3-megapixel camera and big color screen actually allows you to talk with secure 128-bit encryption. Of course, whoever you're talking to needs to have another X8, but if they do, after 10-30 seconds of the phones establishing an encrypted connection, the government — or anyone else — will have no way of listening in on your conversations about apple pie recipes and plans for your July 4th picnic. There are no prices available as of yet, but you've gotta assume that if you buy one and the government can't listen to your calls, you'll probably end up with a surveillance van parked across from your house. Just a fair warning.
