Table power: getting rid of cable clutter

electric_table_w.jpg

With so many electronic items sucking up power at our desks, surge protectors and power strips are a necessity to anyone and everyone these days. The problem with power strips is that they end up creating loads of cable clutter under desks and tables, becoming big, tangled clusters of wires that often get inadvertently kicked during the course of a workday. This Electric Table, designed by Christiane Hogner, features power outlets built in, eliminating the need for power strips on the floor. Of course, judging by the photo this table will only work in Europe (though its "table" abilities should work anywhere), but we hope this intuitive design will find its way into U.S. furniture in the near future.
