Stargazer's chair makes looking up even easier

stargazer_w.jpg

Stargazing is great and all, but if there was just some way to make it less work… it's an extremely labor-intensive hobby. Okay, so it's just standing around, but work with me here. The Computer-Controlled Stargazers Chair comes to us from purveyors of all things cheap and useful, Hammacher Schlemmer, and takes the fun of sitting in a recliner and combines it with the excitement of looking up with a pair of binoculars in your hands. Except they're not in your hands, since a mount holds them for you — phew, that was almost work! Controlled by a joystick, the chair leans you back and rotates you around while you peer up into the great wonders of space, moving around on Teflon ball bearings to ensure a smooth ride. The site claims that the chair is great for deer, bird, and whale watching as well, but be prepared for some strange looks if you lug this thing onto a whale-watching boat. Available online now for the low, low price of $2,000.
