Now available for pre-order: Samsung's new 56-inch HL-S5679W DLP TV, the first rear-projection HDTV featuring an LED backlight instead of a regular lamp. The LED is said to last an estimated 20,000 hours — four times as long as a normal bulb, which typically burn out after 4,000 to 6,000 hours. It'll also boot up faster and offer brighter, more realistic colors. The best part of the new technology is the price: already online merchants are accepting pre-orders for the high-tech set for less than $2,500. With similar-size plasma TVs going for twice as much, that's a bargain.
