Powerpack 400 solves your personal energy crisis

powerpack400plus_w.jpg

Next time there's a blackout, you'll be able to stay powered with a personal reserve like the Xpower Powerpack 400 Plus. This portable battery can provide up to 400 watts of juice, so you can power even high-drain devices like power tools in a pinch. Running the pack that high will suck it dry in 25 minutes or less, however, but if you use it exclusively on lower-wattage gadgets like laptops and lamps, the reserves should last a matter of hours. You can plug any of your appliances into either of the Powerpack's two standard wall outlets, which provide AC power, and there's a 12-volt socket for running DC devices as well. Bonus features include a built-in air compressor with nozzle adapters for pumping up tires and camping equipment, and jumper cables for when your car battery dies. An audible alarm will let you know if it's running too hot, and the display on the front indicates how much percent of the battery is still charged. Emergency power will run you $140 from AltaPower.
