Colossal digging machine is world's largest

digger_w.jpg

What you're looking at is the largest digging machine on the planet, built by German manufacturer Krupp. Pictured here very slowly crossing a road in Germany, the monstrosity weighs in at a whopping 45,500 tons and is over 700 feet long. Ripping through the earth like Star Jones through a sheet cake, it can move 76,000 cubic meters of rock, dirt, and earth per day. If you're looking for buried treasure and need something much faster and easier than just a regular shovel, just give Krupp a call to talk about getting one of your own. Oh, just have your checkbook handy — this thing costs about $100 million. But hey, maybe they'll give you a discount if you ask nicely.
