Here's a fun twist on the baby monitor: a Teddy bear fitted with a camera so you can keep an eye on your kid without sticking a camera in his face. Replacing the bear's nose with a tiny camera, the TeddyCam wirelessly transmits black-and-white video via the 2.4-GHz band to a receiver that connects to your TV — all for the fairly reasonable cost of $54. There's no mention of audio, but the A/V cables provided would seem to indicate there's a built-in mike as well. Cute idea, though you have to wonder how practical it is if the little guy decides to use the bear as a playmate, and TeddyCam ends up face down in a baby-delivered full nelson (maybe TeddyCam 2.0 will have a backup cam in the tail). Although it's intended as a baby monitor, TeddyCam might work better as a gift/investigative tool for a significant other you suspect is straying.
